Corinthians 12:12-20 (ESV) 12 For just as the body is one and has many
members, and all the members of the body, though many, are one body, so it is
with Christ. 13 For in one Spirit we were all baptized into one body Jews or
Greeks, slaves or free and all were made to drink of one Spirit. 14 For the
body does not consist of one member but of many. 15 If the foot should say,
“Because I am not a hand, I do not belong to the body,” that would not make
it any less a part of the body. 16 And if the ear should say, “Because I am
not an eye, I do not belong to the body,” that would not make it any less a
part of the body. 17 If the whole body were an eye, where would be the sense
of hearing? If the whole body were an ear, where would be the sense of smell?
18 But as it is, God arranged the members in the body, each one of them, as
he chose. 19 If all were a single member, where would the body be? 20 As it
is, there are many parts, yet one body. 1 John 1:3-7 (ESV) 3 that which we
have seen and heard we proclaim also to you, so that you too may have
fellowship with us; and indeed our fellowship is with the Father and with his
Son Jesus Christ. 4 And we are writing these things so that our joy may be
complete. 5 This is the message we have heard from him and proclaim to you,
that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all. 6 If we say we have
fellowship with him while we walk in darkness, we lie and do not practice the
truth. 7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have
fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus his Son cleanses us from
all sin. Acts 9:26 (ESV) 26 And when he had come to Jerusalem, he attempted
to join the disciples. And they were all afraid of him, for they did not
believe that he was a disciple. 1 Corinthians 12:21-26 (ESV) 21 The eye
cannot say to the hand, “I have no need of you,” nor again the head to the
feet, “I have no need of you.” 22 On the contrary, the parts of the body that
seem to be weaker are indispensable, 23 and on those parts of the body that
we think less honorable we bestow the greater honor, and our unpresentable
parts are treated with greater modesty, 24 which our more presentable parts
do not require. But God has so composed the body, giving greater honor to the
part that lacked it, 25 that there may be no division in the body, but that
the members may have the same care for one another. 26 If one member suffers,
all suffer together; if one member is honored, all rejoice together. Titus
2:1-10 (ESV) 1 But as for you, teach what accords with sound doctrine. 2
Older men are to be sober-minded, dignified, self-controlled, sound in faith,
in love, and in steadfastness. 3 Older women likewise are to be reverent in
behavior, not slanderers or slaves to much wine. They are to teach what is
good, 4 and so train the young women to love their husbands and children, 5
to be self-controlled, pure, working at home, kind, and submissive to their
own husbands, that the word of God may not be reviled. 6 Likewise, urge the
younger men to be self-controlled. 7 Show yourself in all respects to be a
model of good works, and in your teaching show integrity, dignity, 8 and
sound speech that cannot be condemned, so that an opponent may be put to
shame, having nothing evil to say about us. 9 Slaves are to be submissive to
their own masters in everything; they are to be well-pleasing, not
argumentative, 10 not pilfering, but showing all good faith, so that in
everything they may adorn the doctrine of God our Savior. |
