Corinthians 1:27-29 27 But God chose
what is foolish in the world to shame the wise; God chose what is weak in the
world to shame the strong; 28 God chose what is low and despised in the
world, even things that are not, to bring to nothing things that are, 29 so
that no human being might boast in the presence of God. 2 Corinthians 4:7 7
But we have this treasure in jars of clay, to show that the surpassing power
belongs to God and not to us. Judges 5:7 7 The villagers ceased in Israel;
they ceased to be until I arose; I, Deborah, arose as a mother in Israel.
Judges 4:1 1 And the people of Israel again did what was evil in the sight of
the LORD after Ehud died. Judges 1:27-36 27 Manasseh did not drive out the
inhabitants of Beth-shean and its villages, or Taanach and its villages, or
the inhabitants of Dor and its villages, or the inhabitants of Ibleam and its
villages, or the inhabitants of Megiddo and its villages, for the Canaanites
persisted in dwelling in that land. 28 When Israel grew strong, they put the
Canaanites to forced labor, but did not drive them out completely. 29 And
Ephraim did not drive out the Canaanites who lived in Gezer, so the
Canaanites lived in Gezer among them. 30 Zebulun did not drive out the
inhabitants of Kitron, or the inhabitants of Nahalol, so the Canaanites lived
among them, but became subject to forced labor. 31 Asher did not drive out
the inhabitants of Acco, or the inhabitants of Sidon or of Ahlab or of Achzib
or of Helbah or of Aphik or of Rehob, 32 so the Asherites lived among the
Canaanites, the inhabitants of the land, for they did not drive them out. 33
Naphtali did not drive out the inhabitants of Beth-shemesh, or the
inhabitants of Beth-anath, so they lived among the Canaanites, the
inhabitants of the land. Nevertheless, the inhabitants of Beth-shemesh and of
Beth-anath became subject to forced labor for them. 34 The Amorites pressed
the people of Dan back into the hill country, for they did not allow them to
come down to the plain. 35 The Amorites persisted in dwelling in Mount Heres,
in Aijalon, and in Shaalbim, but the hand of the house of Joseph rested
heavily on them, and they became subject to forced labor. 36 And the border
of the Amorites ran from the ascent of Akrabbim, from Sela and upward. Judges
17:6 6 In those days there was no king
in Israel. Everyone did what was right in his own eyes. Joshua 18:1 1 Then
the whole congregation of the people of Israel assembled at Shiloh and set up
the tent of meeting there. The land lay subdued before them. Judges 19:1 1 In
those days, when there was no king in Israel, a certain Levite was sojourning
in the remote parts of the hill country of Ephraim, who took to himself a concubine
from Bethlehem in Judah. Judges 21:25 25 In those days there was no king in
Israel. Everyone did what was right in his own eyes. Judges 4:4-5 4 Now Deborah, a prophetess, the wife of
Lappidoth, was judging Israel at that time. 5 She used to sit under the palm
of Deborah between Ramah and Bethel in the hill country of Ephraim, and the
people of Israel came up to her for judgment. Judges 4:6-10 6 She sent and
summoned Barak the son of Abinoam from Kedesh-naphtali and said to him, “Has
not the LORD, the God of Israel, commanded you, ‘Go, gather your men at Mount
Tabor, taking 10,000 from the people of Naphtali and the people of Zebulun. 7
And I will draw out Sisera, the general of Jabin’s army, to meet you by the
river Kishon with his chariots and his troops, and I will give him into your
hand’?” 8 Barak said to her, “If you will go with me, I will go, but if you
will not go with me, I will not go.” 9 And she said, “I will surely go with
you. Nevertheless, the road on which you are going will not lead to your
glory, for the LORD will sell Sisera into the hand of a woman.” Then Deborah
arose and went with Barak to Kedesh. 10 And Barak called out Zebulun and
Naphtali to Kedesh. And 10,000 men went up at his heels, and Deborah went up
with him. |
