Timothy 1:5 (ESV) 5 I am reminded of your sincere faith, a faith that dwelt
first in your grandmother Lois and your mother Eunice and now, I am sure,
dwells in you as well. 2 Timothy 1:1-2 (ESV) 1 Paul, an apostle of Christ
Jesus by the will of God according to the promise of the life that is in
Christ Jesus, 2 To Timothy, my beloved child: Grace, mercy, and peace from
God the Father and Christ Jesus our Lord. Acts 16:1 (ESV) 1 Paul came also to
Derbe and to Lystra. A disciple was there, named Timothy, the son of a Jewish
woman who was a believer, but his father was a Greek. 1 Timothy 1:12 (ESV) 12
I thank him who has given me strength, Christ Jesus our Lord, because he
judged me faithful, appointing me to his service, 2 Timothy 2:22 (ESV) 22 So
flee youthful passions and pursue righteousness, faith, love, and peace,
along with those who call on the Lord from a pure heart. 1 Timothy 1:3 (ESV)
3 As I urged you when I was going to Macedonia, remain at Ephesus so that you
may charge certain persons not to teach any different doctrine, 1 Timothy
1:4-5 (ESV) 4 nor to devote themselves to myths and endless genealogies,
which promote speculations rather than the stewardship from God that is by
faith. 5 The aim of our charge is love that issues from a pure heart and a
good conscience and a sincere faith. 2 Timothy 1:2-4 (ESV) 2 To Timothy, my
beloved child: Grace, mercy, and peace from God the Father and Christ Jesus
our Lord. 3 I thank God whom I serve, as did my ancestors, with a clear
conscience, as I remember you constantly in my prayers night and day. 4 As I
remember your tears, I long to see you, that I may be filled with joy. Romans
12:9 (ESV) 9 Let love be genuine. Abhor what is evil; hold fast to what is
good. 2 Corinthians 6:1-10 (ESV) 1 Working together with him, then, we appeal
to you not to receive the grace of God in vain. 2 For he says, “In a
favorable time I listened to you, and in a day of salvation I have helped
you.” Behold, now is the favorable time; behold, now is the day of salvation.
3 We put no obstacle in anyone’s way, so that no fault may be found with our
ministry, 4 but as servants of God we commend ourselves in every way: by
great endurance, in afflictions, hardships, calamities, 5 beatings,
imprisonments, riots, labors, sleepless nights, hunger; 6 by purity,
knowledge, patience, kindness, the Holy Spirit, genuine love; 7 by truthful
speech, and the power of God; with the weapons of righteousness for the right
hand and for the left; 8 through honor and dishonor, through slander and
praise. We are treated as impostors, and yet are true; 9 as unknown, and yet
well known; as dying, and behold, we live; as punished, and yet not killed;
10 as sorrowful, yet always rejoicing; as poor, yet making many rich; as
having nothing, yet possessing everything. Hebrews 11:1 (ESV) 1 Now faith is
the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.
Philippians 2:19-22 (ESV) 19 I hope in the Lord Jesus to send Timothy to you
soon, so that I too may be cheered by news of you. 20 For I have no one like
him, who will be genuinely concerned for your welfare. 21 For they all seek
their own interests, not those of Jesus Christ. 22 But you know Timothy’s
proven worth, how as a son with a father he has served with me in the gospel.
Romans 10:17 (ESV) 17 So faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the
word of Christ. Romans 16:25-27 (ESV) 25 Now to him who is able to strengthen
you according to my gospel and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to
the revelation of the mystery that was kept secret for long ages 26 but has
now been disclosed and through the prophetic writings has been made known to
all nations, according to the command of the eternal God, to bring about the
obedience of faith 27 to the only wise God be glory forevermore through Jesus
Christ! Amen. |
