Romans
14:1 (ESV) 1 As for the one who is weak in faith, welcome him, but not to
quarrel over opinions. 2 John 1:9-11 (ESV) 9 Everyone who goes on ahead and
does not abide in the teaching of Christ, does not have God. Whoever abides
in the teaching has both the Father and the Son. 10 If anyone comes to you
and does not bring this teaching, do not receive him into your house or give
him any greeting, 11 for whoever greets him takes part in his wicked works.
Romans 13:12-14 (ESV) 12 The night is far gone; the day is at hand. So then
let us cast off the works of darkness and put on the armor of light. 13 Let
us walk properly as in the daytime, not in orgies and drunkenness, not in
sexual immorality and sensuality, not in quarreling and jealousy. 14 But put
on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh, to gratify its
desires. Romans 16:17-20 (ESV) 17 I appeal to you, brothers, to watch out for
those who cause divisions and create obstacles contrary to the doctrine that
you have been taught; avoid them. 18 For such persons do not serve our Lord
Christ, but their own appetites, and by smooth talk and flattery they deceive
the hearts of the naive. 19 For your obedience is known to all, so that I
rejoice over you, but I want you to be wise as to what is good and innocent
as to what is evil. 20 The God of peace will soon crush Satan under your
feet. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you. Ephesians 5:11 (ESV) 11
Take no part in the unfruitful works of darkness, but instead expose them.
Titus 3:10-11 (ESV) 10 As for a person who stirs up division, after warning
him once and then twice, have nothing more to do with him, 11 knowing that
such a person is warped and sinful; he is self-condemned. Galatians 2:4-5
(ESV) 4 Yet because of false brothers secretly brought in—who slipped in to
spy out our freedom that we have in Christ Jesus, so that they might bring us
into slavery 5 to them we did not yield in submission even for a moment, so
that the truth of the gospel might be preserved for you. Romans 14:5-23 (ESV)
5 One person esteems one day as better than another, while another esteems
all days alike. Each one should be fully convinced in his own mind. 6 The one
who observes the day, observes it in honor of the Lord. The one who eats,
eats in honor of the Lord, since he gives thanks to God, while the one who
abstains, abstains in honor of the Lord and gives thanks to God. 7 For none
of us lives to himself, and none of us dies to himself. 8 For if we live, we
live to the Lord, and if we die, we die to the Lord. So then, whether we live
or whether we die, we are the Lord’s. 9 For to this end Christ died and lived
again, that he might be Lord both of the dead and of the living. 10 Why do
you pass judgment on your brother? Or you, why do you despise your brother?
For we will all stand before the judgment seat of God; 11 for it is written,
“As I live, says the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall
confess to God.” 12 So then each of us will give an account of himself to
God. 13 Therefore let us not pass judgment on one another any longer, but
rather decide never to put a stumbling block or hindrance in the way of a
brother. 14 I know and am persuaded in the Lord Jesus that nothing is unclean
in itself, but it is unclean for anyone who thinks it unclean. 15 For if your
brother is grieved by what you eat, you are no longer walking in love. By
what you eat, do not destroy the one for whom Christ died. 16 So do not let
what you regard as good be spoken of as evil. 17 For the kingdom of God is
not a matter of eating and drinking but of righteousness and peace and joy in
the Holy Spirit. 18 Whoever thus serves Christ is acceptable to God and
approved by men. 19 So then let us pursue what makes for peace and for mutual
upbuilding. |
