A King, a Lame Man, and a Table of Grace THE STORY: A. And David said, “Is there still anyone left of the house of Saul, that I may show him kindness forJonathan’s sake?” (2 Sam 9:1) B. David had made two promises:1. To Jonathan — 1 Sam 20:12-17 2. To Saul — 1 Sam 24:20-22 C. Ziba said to the king, “There is still a son of Jonathan; he is crippled in his feet” (2 Sam 9:3) D. And Mephibosheth the son of Jonathan … came to David and fell on his face and paid homage. AndDavid said, “Mephibosheth!” And he answered, “Behold, I am your servant.” (2 Sam 9:6) E.
