A
Victorious Mindset Towards Personal Commitment Once again, God has seen fit, according to
his own purpose and grace, that we gather together in this assembly to hear
and to study another portion of his holy and divine word. To those of you who
are visiting with us or you’re not members of Churches of Christ, we just
want you to know that here at the Church of Christ we love to have visitors
and we pray that it shows. For there were many places you could have been on
a Wednesday night, but you made the choice to come to the house of God, which
is the church of the living God, the pillar and ground of the truth.I can’t
believe that we’ve already come to the end of this gospel meeting. Time just
went by and flew by so fast, but I just want to take this moment to thank the
elders of this congregation, Brother David and Brother Ed, for their
invitation to come here and share God’s word with you on this week. And I
would like to thank the congregation here for the accommodations for me and
to those members that joined me for meals and participated in meals and
provided hospitality. I thank you. You have provided the energy needed to be
able to preach and teach every night this week. And I’d like to take this
moment to thank my friend and my brother in Christ, Brother Jason Hardin and
his family, getting to know them a little bit more and spending time with
Jason, I really appreciate the conversations that we’ve had this week, as
well as the encouragement that he has given me, the advice he has given me.
And I really appreciate the work that he is doing here in Laurel Canyon. You
all are very blessed to have a preacher of his caliber. And if for some
reason you all lose your mind and decide that you all want to go in a
different direction, he would not have trouble finding work. You all have a
good preacher, and just continue to encourage him. And just like her and
Aaron continue to hold up his hands like they held up Moses’ hands, because
for as long as you all are working together, I just want you to know that
there is no stopping point short of victory. I’d like to thank each and every
member here, especially those that have been able to make it out here every
night. You all are the ones that have made this meeting a success by your
enthusiasm, by your interest in spiritual matters, by your desire to want to
be here and hear God’s holy and divine word. So I really appreciate your
commitment to Christ. I really appreciate the encouragement that you all have
given me every night. I appreciate your prayers for my family, as well as
your attendance.Tonight we’re going to finish this series, and we’re going to
speak from the subject of a victorious mindset towards personal commitment. A
victorious mindset towards personal commitment. As we stated in the beginning
of our study, a victorious mindset is an attitude of overcoming, regardless
of the enemy, circumstances, work and/or past failures. But now we have to
deal with this idea of personal commitment. Well, what is personal
commitment? Personal commitment is to be responsible for or to something or
someone, to pledge or obligate yourself to something or someone. Now as
Christians, we need to acknowledge the importance of being committed. We must
possess the faith to follow through on all of our commitments. We must have
the ability to keep our commitments. A victorious mindset demands we remain
committed despite any challenges, and despite any obstacles. We must stay
committed to our obligations so that we can achieve our desired outcome. Now I
am well aware that all of this is easier said than done, but we all have
areas by which we can improve ourselves in the kingdom of our Lord and Savior
Jesus Christ. And in order to develop and maintain a victorious mindset
towards personal commitment, we need to be able to answer two questions on
this evening. Question number one is, why must I have a victorious mindset
towards personal commitment |
