* Victorious Femininity *      A. We live in the midst of a confused culture wherein the most fundamental aspects of humanity are frequently blurred and distorted.  1.  In our last lesson we reminded ourselves of fundamental facts:   a.  In the beginning, God created (Gen 1:1-25)  b.  God created human beings (Acts 17:25-28; Isa 43:6-7; Psa 148)  c. Human beings are created in God’s own image (Gen 1:26-27a; 5:1; 9:1-6; James 3:8-9)  d.  Gender is one of the most basic expressions of the image of God (Gen 1:27b)  2. When God said, “Let us make man in our image” (Gen 1:26), what did he have in mind?  a.  Provide (Gen 2:15) – work, keep, order, maintain  b.  Pursue (Gen 2:16-17) – learn, explore, enjoy, teach  c.  Protect (Gen 2:17) – guard, contend, act, lead  d.  Partner (Gen 2:18) – connect, participate, commune, help  B. But God also created “female” in his own image. What did he have in mind?I.  “Have You Not Read…?” (Matt 19:4) – The Fundamental Facts  A.  Having read eight times about what is “good,” we come to a jarring ___________ (Gen 2:18a).  B.  God took it upon himself to make “a __________” (‘ezer – one who supplies strength in the area that is lacking in “the helped”) for the man (Gen 2:18b).  C.  This helper would need to be someone “______________  ” (corresponding to) man (Gen 2:18c).  D.  Of all the other living __________ , there was not found “a helper fit” for Adam (Gen 2:19-20).  E. So the LORD God fashioned a specific and perfect helper for man (Gen 2:21-23).  1.  Completely __________ in their value and in their full humanity (Gen 1:27)  2. ___________  in the way they relate and function, a distinction grounded in the nature of God (1 Cor 11:3) and his very good creation (1 Tim 2:13)  3.  Equally made in God’s image, equally in need of _______ (Rom 3:23), equally ___________    (Gal 3:28; 1 Pet 3:7), and equally to be resurrected and glorified as ____________  of God (1 John 3:1-2)  F. _____________ is an institution designed and defined by God wherein man and woman can be joined together in a sacred covenant that glorifies God in a unique way (Gen 2:24; Eph 5:31-32).  II.  What Does Victorious Femininity Look Like? Input From a Wise Source  A.  The woman ____________ : opposite of victorious femininity (Prov 9:13-18; 5:3-6).  B.  The woman __________ : epitome of victorious femininity (Prov 9:1-6, 10; 31:30; 3:13-20, 5-8).
