Saved The idea of being saved is one that so many
in the world today want to embrace. No one wants to be someone who is lost,
or not saved. But we find that God shows us, through His word, what it takes
to be among the saved (Acts 2:36-39, 47; 1 Cor. 1:18; Acts 4:12). Even more
than that, He leads us to understand the depth of what those who are saved
have experienced. Whether you are new in Christ or have been saved for many
years, appreciate the magnitude of your salvation each and every day. A.
There is a debt I cannot pay
1. Try to realize what it means
to be truly unable to pay what you owe (Matt.18:22-35) 2.
To be saved is to know you have been freed from that debt (Col.
2:6-14; Ps. 49:7-8; 1 Tim.2:1-6)
B. There is a grace I do not
deserve 1. Have you ever been given something that you
should not have received? (2 Cor.9:12-15)
2. Those who are saved, live by
faith and have been saved by grace (Eph.2:1-10) C.
There is a forgiveness I need to accept 1.
Sometimes we live in the guilt of our past sins rather than the
freedom of Christ (Rom.8:1-2) 2. God paid dearly for the saved, the
sacrifice of His Son. (Eph.1:7; Ps.32:1-5; 2 John 1:9) Being saved is not
just a feeling, it is does not come from a ritual of going through the
motions of some type of traditional ceremony; it is the result of an obedient
faith that drives one to give them self wholly and completely to God. The one who realizes how much they need Him
and where they stand without Him, is the one who is ready to move forward
living each day devoted to the God who saved them. |
