Walking
with God & Being Blameless It is an amazing thing that God calls us to do and be. Think of what He said to Abraham in Gen. 17:1 When Abram was ninety- nine years old the Lord appeared to Abram and said to him, “I am God Almighty; walk before me, and be blameless”. God calls us to this charge in various ways throughout our lives; He shows us those who have gone before our time that were known as “blameless.” How do we get there? What does this walk look like? ¨ Noah (Gen. 6:9) – A man who stood out in an evil culture (Gen.6:8; Heb 11:7; Gen.6:22, 7:5) ¨ Job (Job 1:1, 8) – Staying true to God through trials, difficulties and distractions (Job 19:25-26, 2:3; Heb. 4:12-13; 1 Thess.2:5,10) ¨ Daniel (Dan. 6:4-5) – The ever-present example of standing firm in an hostile nation (Dan. 1:8, 6:10; Eph.4:1, 1:4) ¨ Enoch (Gen. 5:21-24) – A short story that speaks volumes (James 1:4; Col.1:10; Eph.5:15; 1 Thess.2:12) ¨ Elijah (2 Kings 2:11-12) – Relentless standing for righteousness among God’s enemies (Phil.2:12-16; 1 Kings 17-18, 19:1-3, 14-18, 2 Kings 1) |
