That Helps Me See God It is easy to understand and appreciate something that is pure. We pay more for it, we hold it up above that which is corrupted, defiled, or just simply blemished. We have that desire as a part of us because it comes from God. He is pure in the truest sense of the word, and His desire is for us to make every effort to live with purity in our own lives. (Titus 2:12) A.) Seeing What Purity Really Is 1.) God is set apart, He is holy (lsa.6:3; Ps.12:6, 29:1-2; Rev.4:8) 2.) It is something we rarely see on earth- purity in it’s true form (1 Sam. 2:2; Lev. 11:44-47; Ps.96:9; Ex.15:11) 3.) Because He is who He is – He calls us to live pure lives (Matt.5:8; 1 Pet.2:22; 1 Tim. 1:5) B.) Embrace Purity, Rather Than Living by the Exception 1.) The ox in the pit (Luke 14:5) 2.) Fleeing and abstaining (1 Thess. 4:3-5; 1 Cor. 6:18) 3.) Influences and the heart (Prov.4:23; 1 Cor. 15:33; 1 Thes. 5:22; Ps. 51:10) C.) Living Pure and Why My Environment Matters 1.) To live in purity starts with desire and humility (1 Pet.2:11; Rom. 13:13-14; Titus 2:4-5; Ps. 73:1) 2.) Building a fire in the rain (Mal.3:3; 1 John 2:15) 3.) “I’m used to that sort of thing” (Titus 1:15; 2 Tim. 3:13;Rom. 1:26-28) 4.) Are you being wise in your walk? (Eph.5:15-16; 2 Cor. 7:1) 5.)
