The Life
of Christ Our Savior lived an amazing life while here on earth; He lived
perfectly, sinlessly, and completely fulfilled His Father’s purpose. We honor
Him as His followers, as Christians, when we give our best to be like Him. We
want to have a life that is “of Christ…everyday, everywhere.” A
part of our victory in Jesus is the how He lived and what His life
accomplished. We want to be like He was and live like He did. When we are
willing to commit ourselves to live that way, God is glorified as we take on
the ways of our Redeemer. I. It is a
Life of ———–a. Jesus showed this so many times in the New Testament
(Matt. 9:36, 14:14, 15:32, 20:34, Mk.1:41, 5:19, Luke 7:13)b. His examples
and parables also point us to be this type of people. (Luke 10:33, 15:20)II.
It is a Life of ———-a. It is not an easy thing to live as Jesus did.
(Luke 9:57-62)b. Our friends, family and responsibilities pull us in
different ways. When we choose Jesus, it is sometimes the harder road (John
15:18-19)c. God is always looking for this type of person. (Joshua
1:1-19)Ill. A life that demands we be _a. Jesus
never faltered or waivered to continue in His Father’s will. (Lk 2:49,
22,41-42, Heb 5:7-9)b. Our constant and faithful example glorifies our Father
and helps us hold fast the word of truth. (Col. 3:17, 1 Cor.15:58)IV. A life
that is built around the ———-a. A constant reminder of the selfless
servant who was willing to go all the way for us.(Phil.2:8, 2 Cor.5:21 ,)b.
We, then, give our best to be like Him. To live selflessly, remembering the
cost or sacrifice. (Gal. 2:20, 2 Cor. 5:14)Jesus lived that we might have
life, and have it abundantly (John 10:10) When we are “of Christ”
we choose to live in a way that is like Him and honors Him. Jesus told us
that He is the Way, the Truth, and the Life…and the He is the only path to
the Father. (John 14:6) The Life of Christ is the only way to an eternal
peace with our Creator. |
