Victory Over the Enemy What Can We Learn
About Satan? As we think about having
Victory in Jesus, it reminds us that there is, in fact a battle in which we
are involved. As in any battle, there is an enemy to stand against and our
enemy is Satan. We know from God’s word that he wants to destroy us (1 Peter
5:8). We can see the warnings that he will use what he can against us (2 Cor.
2:11). What can we learn to win this battle?
1.) We need Christ to have victory over the devil. a. God tells us Christ will give us victory
from the very beginning (Gen 3:15) b.
The Devil “schemes” against us (Eph. 6:11) c. It helps us to appreciate our Savior
when we realize all that Satan is d:
We need our Father for eternal victory; Satan is the father of this world
(John 8:44) 2.) We can have victory
over Satan! a. It is not a physical
battle, but spiritual (Eph. 6:12) b.
Satan is accountable to God (Book of Job)
c. He can do nothing that God has not allowed (1 Cor.10:13) d. God has given us a way to win (Eph.
6:10-13) There is so much to learn
about our enemy in God’s revealed word. We must be vigilant, we must be
dedicated and on guard…but we can and should have victory over Satan and
all he would try to do to lead us away from God. |
