 The Bible in Two Words: God Wins   A. “God saw everything that he had made, and behold, it was very good”(Gen 1:31). B.  By the end of Genesis 3, our adversary appears to have spoiled it all. 1.  In the Revelation to John he is “a great red dragon with seven heads and ten horns, and on his heads seven diadems. His tail swept down a third of the stars of heaven” (12:3-4). He is identified as “that ancient serpent, who is called the devil and Satan, the deceiver of the whole world”(12:9). 2.  From Genesis 3on, curses are a new reality, pain is felt, life is difficult, and death is experienced. Transgression destroys God’s beloved image-bearers; iniquity enslaves God’s children and cheats them out of the fullness of God-bestowed life. Sin shapes, infects, pollutes, and paralyzes. C.  And yet, God’s written revelation can be summarized in just two words: God wins. How? I.  Tracing the God-Blazed Trail to Victory A.  The trailhead: Genesis 3:15-the seed of a____________will bruise the head of the serpent. His life (John 1:29; Matt 4:1-11; John 10:17-18; Luke 22:19-20, 41-44) 3.  His death (John 19:30) 4.  The cosmic dimensions of his accomplishments (Gal 4:4-7; 3:13; 1Cor 15:20-22; Col 1:19-20; Rev 12:7-11; 19:11-16; 20:7-21:8; 22:12-17) II.  The Fork in the Trail of Life A. “We implore you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God” (2 Cor 5:10, 14-15, 17-21; Acts 22:16). B. “This is the victory that has overcome the world—our__________” (1 John 5:4; 4:4). C. “Be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might” (Eph 6:10-20). D. “The God of peace will soon crush Satan under________feet” (Rom 16:20). Conclusion: A.  The overall message of the 66 books, 1,189 chapters, 31,102 verses of the Bible:______ ______. B.  The victory of Jesus has opened the door to victory in Jesus. We are graciously allowed the opportunity to share in his triumph as victors. Are you willing to triumphantly walk with him?
