1 Peter
3:18 (ESV) 18 For Christ also suffered once for sins, the righteous for the
unrighteous, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh
but made alive in the spirit, Hebrews 12:1-2 (ESV) 1 Therefore, since we are
surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every
weight, and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with endurance the
race that is set before us, 2 looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of
our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross,
despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God.
Matthew 7:13-14 (ESV) 13 “Enter by the narrow gate. For the gate is wide and
the way is easy that leads to destruction, and those who enter by it are
many. 14 For the gate is narrow and the way is hard that leads to life, and
those who find it are few. 1 John 2:15-17 (ESV) 15 Do not love the world or
the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is
not in him. 16 For all that is in the world
the desires of the flesh and the desires of the eyes and pride in
possessions is not from the Father but is from the world. 17 And the world is
passing away along with its desires, but whoever does the will of God abides
forever. Hebrews 9:11-12 (ESV) 11 But when Christ appeared as a high priest
of the good things that have come, then through the greater and more perfect
tent ( not made with hands, that is, not of this creation) 12 he entered once
for all into the holy places, not by means of the blood of goats and calves
but by means of his own blood, thus securing an eternal redemption. Hebrews
9:24 (ESV) 24 For Christ has entered, not into holy places made with hands,
which are copies of the true things, but into heaven itself, now to appear in
the presence of God on our behalf.
Philippians 3:20-21 (ESV) 20 But our citizenship is in heaven, and
from it we await a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, 21 who will transform our
lowly body to be like his glorious body, by the power that enables him even
to subject all things to himself. Galatians 2:14 (ESV) 14 But when I saw that
their conduct was not in step with the truth of the gospel, I said to Cephas
before them all, “If you, though a Jew, live like a Gentile and not like a
Jew, how can you force the Gentiles to live like Jews?” 1 John 2:1-2 (ESV) 1
My little children, I am writing these things to you so that you may not sin.
But if anyone does sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the
righteous. 2 He is the propitiation for our sins, and not for ours only but
also for the sins of the whole world. |
